Srinagar, Apr 17: The mortal remains of a youth from the Lolab area of Kupwara district, who passed away in Saudi Arabia last week, were repatriated to India on Friday following coordinated efforts by authorities and members of the diaspora.

According to reports published by Alfaaz – The Words, Bilal Manzoor Ganaie, son of Manzoor Ahmad Ganaie, had reportedly died due to a cardiac arrest, triggering widespread grief in his native village in north Kashmir.

The body was flown from Saudi Arabia to New Delhi, where it arrived on Friday morning, and is now being brought to Srinagar on a scheduled flight later in the day. Necessary arrangements, including an ambulance at Srinagar airport, have been put in place to ensure the seamless transfer of the mortal remains to his hometown in Lolab.

The repatriation process was facilitated through coordinated intervention by government agencies, particularly the Ministry of External Affairs, along with support from members of the Kashmiri community in Saudi Arabia who assisted in completing legal and logistical formalities.

Reports further indicate that sustained efforts were made over the past few days to expedite the return of the body, enabling the family to perform the last rites in their native place.

The family has in the meantime said that the funeral prayers (Namaz-e-Janaza) will be announced once the body reaches home.
