SRINAGAR: The District and Police Administration in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday jointly demolished three residential structures belonging to alleged drug peddlers in the Korepunnu area of Rajbagh, as part of the ongoing Nasha Mukt Abhiyan.

Officials said the action was taken against properties linked to Liaqat Ali alias Liaqatu, Gaggu Din, and Sham Din, all sons of Sharief Mohammad and residents of Korepunnu, Tehsil Marheen. The houses were reportedly constructed illegally on state land and were valued at over Rs 1 crore, according to police estimates.

A police spokesperson said the accused individuals are involved in 16 FIRs related to drug peddling and other criminal activities.

Describing the demolition drive as part of intensified enforcement measures, authorities said the action reflects the administration’s commitment to dismantling drug networks and taking strict action against those involved in narcotics-related offences.

Further action in the matter is underway.
