SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday described the historic Somnath Temple as a lasting symbol of India’s spiritual strength, resilience and civilisational continuity despite repeated invasions over centuries.

In a message shared on X after attending the “Somnath Swabhiman Parv”, Sinha said he felt honoured to be part of the commemoration marking 1,000 years of unwavering faith associated with the revered shrine.

He said the temple has continued to inspire the people of India with courage and determination, describing it as a beacon of cultural and spiritual consciousness for the nation.

Referring to the consecration of the reconstructed temple on May 11, 1951, the Lieutenant Governor said the shrine has since strengthened the country’s collective spirit and reinforced a sense of national resolve.

Sinha further expressed hope that the blessings of Somnath would continue to guide the nation towards progress and unity with renewed commitment and dedication.
