
SRINAGAR: Khyber Cement organised a mega plantation drive at Green Park, Khyber Industries Pvt Ltd, to mark World Environment Day 2026, reaffirming its commitment to environmental sustainability and responsible industrial growth.
The programme was attended by Safeer Shah, Divisional Officer Kashmir of the JK Pollution Control Committee, Bilal Ahmad Khan, Director Operations of Khyber Cement, Riaz Tramboo, Head Commercials, Legal and Regulatory Affairs, Manzoor Ahmad Mir and Head Operations Mohd Shafi Dar.
As part of the initiative, saplings were planted across the Green Park premises to promote ecological preservation and environmental responsibility. The company said the drive reflected its broader vision of integrating sustainability into its operations while contributing to the environmental well-being of the region.
Speaking on the occasion, Riaz Tramboo said Khyber Cement was built on a promise to the land and its people, adding that the company remains committed to ensuring that its growth contributes to a healthier environment, stronger communities and a sustainable future.
Manzoor Ahmad Mir said environmental responsibility must go hand in hand with development, adding that every tree planted represents an investment in the future and a commitment to preserving the region’s natural heritage.
