SRINAGAR: The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has appointed 20 officers as Executive Magistrates in District Reasi under the provisions of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023, in a move aimed at strengthening administrative and law-and-order mechanisms at the district level.

According to a notification issued by the Department of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs on April 17, 2026, the appointed officers will exercise all powers of Executive Magistrates within their respective territorial jurisdictions in Reasi district.

The appointments have been made in exercise of powers conferred under sub-section (1) of Section 14 of the BNSS, 2023.

Among those appointed are Sachin Sharma, District Social Welfare Officer Reasi; Shahid Iqbal, CDPO Arnas; Ram Paul, BDO Pouni; Ganaie Nisaq-ul-Farooq, BDO Reasi; Aarti, BDO Katra; Surinderjeet Kour, CDPO Reasi; and Lekha Bhasin, CDPO Pouni.

Other officers include Mohd. Ajaz, Functional Manager DIC Reasi; Ujwal Sambyal, Assistant Director Handicrafts Reasi; Mukesh Kumar, DIO Reasi; Bhawani Atri, Deputy Registrar Cooperative; Rajat Abrol, Executive Officer Municipal Committee Katra; Vishal Angurana, Assistant Director FCS and CA Reasi; and Sanjay Bhatt, Assistant Labour Commissioner Reasi.

The list further comprises Siddant Dubey, Range Forest Officer Reasi; Anil Kumar Bhagat, Range Forest Officer Thakrakote Headquarters; Rajinder Singh Parihar; and Anupam Kaul, Divisional Officer, Pollution Control Committee Reasi.

The District Magistrate Reasi had earlier recommended the appointments through a communication dated April 15, 2026.
