April 20, 2026: Jammu : Jammu & Kashmir Railways Police witnessed a key administrative review as Zahid Nasim Manhas, IPS, DIG Railways, J&K, visited GRP Jammu shortly after assuming charge. The visit focused on assessing ground-level functioning and reinforcing security protocols across the railway network.
On arrival, the DIG held a Darbar at GRP Lines Jammu, where he interacted with officers and personnel. He directed the force to prioritize resolution of operational issues and emphasized the importance of prompt and effective policing, especially in matters concerning passenger safety and railway security.
He later convened a meeting with the SSP GRP Jammu and Gazetted Officers. The session included a detailed review of operational readiness, coordination mechanisms, and security arrangements at Jammu Railway Station.
DIG Railways also evaluated the existing security deployment and ongoing initiatives aimed at safeguarding passengers. He stressed the need for improved efficiency, better surveillance, and proactive policing to strengthen the overall security framework.
The visit highlighted the administration’s focus on enhancing railway security infrastructure and ensuring a safer travel environment for commuters in the region.
