CM Omar Flags Off 7 Ambulances Under JKSPDC CSR Initiative in Jammu | Kashmir Life

SRINAGAR: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday flagged off seven ambulances along with healthcare equipment from the Civil Secretariat, Jammu, for deployment across five districts of Jammu and Kashmir. The vehicles have been provided by the Jammu and Kashmir State Power Development Corporation (JKSPDC) under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.

The ambulances, procured at a total cost of Rs 144.73 lakh, are aimed at strengthening emergency medical response services across the Union Territory.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that improving access to emergency healthcare, particularly in underserved areas, remains a key priority of the government. He added that the new ambulances would help ensure timely medical assistance and contribute to saving lives.

Minister for Health and Medical Education Sakina Itoo, Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Dheeraj Gupta, Managing Director JKSPDC Rahul Yadav, Director Health Services Jammu, and other senior officials were present.

The Chief Minister was also briefed on other CSR activities undertaken by JKSPDC, including the provision of medical equipment to healthcare institutions, support to childcare homes and a school for the visually impaired, as well as civil works executed during the financial year 2025–26 amounting to Rs 237.28 lakh.

Reiterating the government’s focus on inclusive development, the Chief Minister appreciated JKSPDC’s role in supporting key social sectors through its CSR initiatives.
