Srinagar, Jun 10: Acting under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan, Awantipora Police on Wednesday attached immovable property valued at around Rs 1.20 crore belonging to an alleged drug trafficker in Pampore.

An official said the action was taken under Section 68-F of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act against Manzoor Mir alias Mann Tiger of Kadlabal, Pampore. The attached property comprises a double-storey residential house.

The property, the official said, was identified during an investigation carried out by Police Station Pampore under the supervision of senior officers. The enquiry concluded that the asset had allegedly been acquired through income generated from the illegal trade of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances.

“The accused is involved in several narcotics-related cases and has figured in multiple FIRs linked to drug trafficking activities. The investigation further established that the attached property was created from proceeds derived from the alleged illicit drug trade,” added the official.

Officials said the move forms part of a broader strategy to curb narcotics trafficking by targeting assets accumulated through criminal activity. They added that such measures are intended to weaken the financial base of drug networks and reinforce efforts aimed at eliminating the drug menace from society.
