SRINAGAR: As part of security and preparedness measures for the forthcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY)-2026, Anantnag Police on Sunday conducted a mock drill at the Landing Strip in Jablipora, Bijbehara, to assess and enhance emergency response capabilities.

The exercise was aimed at evaluating operational preparedness, testing response mechanisms and strengthening coordination among police personnel in handling various contingency situations that may arise during the annual pilgrimage.

During the drill, different emergency scenarios were simulated and effectively managed by the participating teams. The exercise provided an opportunity for security personnel to assess their readiness and refine response protocols ahead of the yatra.

Senior police officers reviewed the mock drill and stressed the importance of regular preparedness exercises to ensure a safe, secure and smooth conduct of the pilgrimage.

Police officials said the exercise forms part of broader efforts to reinforce security arrangements and emergency response systems for the forthcoming Amarnath Yatra.

Anantnag Police reiterated its commitment to maintaining robust security measures and ensuring the safety, security and convenience of all pilgrims undertaking the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra-2026.
