Banihal Constituency No Longer to Lag Behind on Development Front ;

Banihal, May 12: In a significant step towards strengthening healthcare infrastructure in the constituency, MLA Banihal Sajjad Shaheen today inaugurated the newly established Dialysis Centre at Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Banihal.
The newly established facility is expected to provide major relief to patients suffering from kidney-related ailments by making dialysis services available locally and minimizing the need for patients to travel outside the district for treatment.
Speaking on the occasion, the MLA said that the constituency is witnessing a new era of development and progress, adding that it will no longer lag behind on the development front. He stated that sustained efforts are being made to strengthen healthcare, education, road connectivity and other essential public services across the constituency.
The MLA also acknowledged the wholehearted support and cooperation extended by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Education and Health Minister Sakina Masood Itoo and other Cabinet Ministers towards the development of the vast and far-flung Banihal-Gool constituency. He expressed gratitude to the government for prioritizing developmental projects and public welfare initiatives in the area.
He further informed that the work on establishment of a Dialysis Centre at Gool is also under progress and the facility will soon be dedicated to the people, further enhancing healthcare facilities in the constituency.
Later, the MLA chaired a meeting of the Rogi Kalyan Samiti (RKS) at SDH Banihal to review the functioning of the hospital and patient care facilities. During the meeting, various healthcare-related issues including patient care, availability of medicines, staff requirements and hospital infrastructure were discussed in detail. The MLA directed the concerned authorities to ensure efficient healthcare delivery and improved facilities for the patients visiting the hospital.
The MLA appreciated the efforts of doctors, paramedical staff and hospital administration for their dedicated services towards public welfare.
Subsequently, MLA Sajjad Shaheen inaugurated infrastructural development works at High School Dooligam constructed at an estimated cost of ₹35.32 lakh. Addressing the gathering, he reiterated his commitment towards improving educational infrastructure and ensuring better facilities for students in remote and rural areas.
Block Medical Officer (BMO) Banihal, Dr. Shabir Ahmed Dar, besides other prominent citizens, party functionaries, officials and locals were present on the occasion.
