SRINAGAR: A man who had been missing for nearly a week was found dead in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Sunday, officials said.
The deceased was identified as Tahir Iqbal Khan, 27, son of late Mohammad Iqbal Khan and a resident of Kichana, Bijhama.
An official said Tahir had left his home for Baramulla on May 3 and had remained untraceable since then, causing concern among his family members.
“After several days of searches, his body was recovered from Bagna Nallah in Baramulla. Preliminary assessment suggests that he fell from a rocky height of nearly 100 feet,” the official said.
Police have taken cognisance of the incident and initiated further proceedings. (GNS)
