Water Supply to Remain Suspended in Srinagar, Ganderbal | Kashmir Life

SRINAGAR: The Rural Water Supply Division Ganderbal of the Jammu and Kashmir Jal Shakti Department has announced suspension of potable drinking water supply in major parts of Ganderbal district and rural areas of Srinagar from April 25 to April 27 due to repair works on the Sindh Power Canal.

According to an urgent public notice issued by the Executive Engineer, the shutdown is necessitated by Phase-II repair works of the Sindh Power (SP) Canal to be carried out by CMD Ganderbal from April 25 to April 26. During this period, raw water supply to all water treatment plants and schemes dependent on the canal will remain unavailable.

Consequently, drinking water supply in the affected areas will remain suspended from 6:00 AM on Saturday, April 25, 2026, to 6:00 AM on Monday, April 27, 2026.

In Ganderbal district, the affected areas include Ganderbal Town, Nagbal, Rangil, Dariend, Malshaibagh, Babadaryadin, Khalamulla, Banjar Basti, Nunner, Gutlibagh, Baba Wayil, Wayil, Wayil Wudder, Nadirbagh, Bobsipora, Chappergund, Budurkund, Bandibagh, Arch, Serch, Suderbagh, Chowdribagh, Malpora, Hard Muradbagh, Gundrehman, Harran, Tulbagh, Kachan, Gundmumin, Hakimgund, Hatborah, Kustooripora, Sehpora, Shalbugh, Chundina, Gojigund, Malikpora, Kokgund, Devpora, Korag, Gadoora, Kujjar, Rakhi Harran, Benehama, Manigam, Tulamulla, Waheedpora, Theeru and Larsun.

In rural areas of Srinagar district, the affected localities include Gulab-Bagh, Zakura, Habak, Shaheen Colony, Meerakshah Colony, Fazal-haq Colony, Fisherman Colony, Shuhama, Chatterhama, Warpoh, Bakura, Inderhama, Syedpora, Daedi Nowbug, Khimber Hadoora, Syedpora Humchi, Wanihama, Batapora, Fazal Haq Colony, Gassu Bakura, Qurashi Mohalla Tulbagh, Shanpora Guzerbal, Palpora, New Colony, Kreshbal, Bakshipora, Tangpora, Gurhanjipora, Chonchifakir, Pamposh Colony, Goripora, Shunglipora, Bank Colony, Kounsar Colony and adjoining areas, including Dagpora Anchar.
