South Kashmir: Police Warn Against Rumours Over Alleged Sexual Assault Incident in Educational Institution | Kashmir Life

SRINAGAR: Police in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Tuesday issued an advisory urging the public not to circulate unverified or misleading content on social media related to an alleged sexual assault incident reported in an educational institution.

In a statement, a police spokesperson said that Pulwama Police has taken note of certain unverified and misleading posts being shared across social media platforms regarding the incident.

The statement said the matter is currently under thorough examination, and all required verifications are being conducted as per established procedures.

Police cautioned the public against sharing, forwarding, or engaging with unsubstantiated claims and rumours, noting that such content can mislead people, create unnecessary panic, and disturb public order.

It further stated that strict legal action will be taken against anyone found involved in spreading false or misleading information.

Citizens have been advised to rely only on official and verified sources for accurate updates.
