Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology of Kashmir (SKUAST-K) has invited applications from eligible candidates for the post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under a research project in the Division of Plant Biotechnology, Faculty of Horticulture, Shalimar, Srinagar.

The recruitment is purely temporary and contractual, co-terminus with the project titled “Breaking Prolonged Saffron (Crocus sativus) Dormancy Through Mediation of Plant Growth Regulators (PGRs) & CRISPR-Cas-Based Genome Editing for Transgene-Free Biannual Cultivation.”

Eligibility Criteria

Essential Qualification: Candidates must have:

• M.Sc. in Biotechnology / Molecular Biology / Bioinformatics or equivalent
• Minimum 60% marks in qualifying examination
• Must have qualified NET or GATE examination

Desirable Qualification:

Candidates having experience in the following areas will be preferred:

• qRT-PCR
• Cloning techniques
• Genome Editing (CRISPR-Cas)
• Cell and Tissue Culture
• In-vitro propagation
• Transcriptomics
• Western blotting
• Bioinformatics analysis
• NGS data handling

Salary Details

Monthly Emoluments:

• Salary will be paid as per funding agency norms.

Selection Process

Selection will be carried out through:

1. Shortlisting of applications
2. Interview of shortlisted candidates
