Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari urges government

Srinagar, April 27: Expressing his concern over the Jammu and Kashmir administration’s decision to declare Dar-ul-Uloom Jamia Siraj-ul-Uloom in Shopian an unlawful entity under the UAPA, Apni Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari urged the authorities to revisit their decision in order to safeguard the future of the students currently enrolled in the institution.
He said, “It has come to our notice that this institution has been closed due to its alleged affiliation with Jamaat-e-Islami. However, the fact remains that Jamaat-e-Islami was even allowed to contest elections here. The government registered this organisation to pave the way for it to contest the polls. Why, then, are now poor students being punished? Reportedly, around 10,000 students are studying in this institution. The future of these children must be protected. I appeal to the government to revisit its decision in order to safeguard the future of the students who are studying there.”
