Lightning strike kills woman in J&K’s Doda

Jammu, June 203: A woman was killed after she was struck by lightning in Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda district on Tuesday, officials said.

The deceased has been identified as Pinki Devi, a resident of Khuddhar, who died on the spot, they said.

Expressing grief over the incident, J-K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said, “My sincere condolences to the bereaved family of Pinki Devi from Khuddhar, Doda, who tragically passed away due to a lightning strike.”

The deputy commissioner has been directed to provide immediate relief and assistance to the family, he added.
