Jammu Kashmir: PDD Orders Transfer and Posting of 82 Engineers | Kashmir Life

SRINAGAR: The Power Development Department on Wednesday carried out a large-scale reshuffle, ordering the transfer and posting of numerous engineers across the Union Territory to enhance administrative efficiency and ensure smoother functioning of services.

As per Government Order No. 99-JK(PDD) of 2026 dated April 15, the changes involve Assistant Executive Engineers (AEEs), Assistant Engineers (AEs), and Junior Engineers (JEs), and have been made effective immediately.

Issued from the Civil Secretariat, the order states that the exercise has been undertaken in the interest of administration and efficient discharge of official duties, affecting various wings of the power sector, including Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited, Jammu Power Distribution Corporation Limited, and Jammu and Kashmir Power Transmission Corporation Limited.

In the AEE cadre, Mohammad Rashid Shafi has been reassigned from ESD Blessa (Gandoh) to IT and C Division, SD-South, KPDCL, while Aijaz Mudassir has been posted to SD-Rajpora in Pulwama. Mohd Magbool Ganai has been shifted to ED-Sumbal, SD-Hajin. In Jammu, Rakesh Singh has been posted to AEE Division Jammu in place of Gulshan Bhagat, who has been moved to Electric Inspection SD-I, Kathua. Shahnawaz Ahmad Wani has been transferred to ED-Baramulla, and Shakeel Ahmad to ED-II Rajbagh. Mohammad Iqbal Gani has been shifted from Kishtwar to Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, while Mohammad Iqbal Mir has been moved from Sumbal to Anantnag, and Amjad Parvaiz (ST) has been posted to SD-I Baramulla.

The reshuffle also includes adjustments on a mutual and vacancy basis, including the swapping of Fayaz Ahmad Bhat and Vaseem Mustafa between Sarnal and Qazigund. Several officers such as Abdul Hamid Ganai, Ghulam Mohammad Mir, and Abdul Latief Mir have been reassigned to Kupwara, Tral, and Pahalgam areas, while Mohd Maqbool Ahanger has been placed at the disposal of the PW (R and B) Department.

Further administrative placements have been made in key technical and planning wings, with Irshad Ahmad Sofi posted in the office of the Chief Engineer (Distribution), KPDCL, and Mohd Rajab Bhat moved to the Planning and Procurement Circle. Ishtiyaq Ahmad Wani has been given additional charge of SD-Tral, Zahoor Ahmad Mattoo has been assigned duties in the IT and C Division, and Anita Karalia has been transferred from Planning JPDCL to the Canal Division in Jammu.

In the AE cadre, Sandeep Kumar has been posted to Project Circle-I Jammu, while Vikrant Chib, Ashutosh Sharma, and Hiteshwar Sood have been adjusted within Jammu divisions. Ilyas Haroon has been shifted to JKPTCL, Mudassar Choudhary to Bari Brahmana, and Anshu Sharma to Vijaypur. A mutual transfer has also been ordered between Shakoor Ahmad and Imran Mohammad, who have been exchanged between Shopian and Sumbal, while Ali Mohammad Khan has been posted to Dooru in Anantnag.

Several engineers have been deputed to other departments, including Muzaffar Ahmad and Magsood Ahmad, who have been sent to the Police Construction Division, while others have been placed at the disposal of Estates and Housing departments for further assignments.

The order also covers extensive transfers in the JE cadre, with Adil Bazaz, Shabir Ahmed, and Ravinder Jeet Singh posted to various divisions in Jammu, and Tawseen Jaffar and Saiqa Rashid assigned roles in Kashmir. Some officers, including Satvinder Kour, Kanchan Bharti, and Romi Gupta, have been directed to await further orders.

The government has instructed that all engineers included in the order shall be deemed relieved immediately to join their new places of posting without delay.
