Islamic University of Science & Technology (IUST), Awantipora, Kashmir has issued a notice for engagement of Contractual Assistant Professor on academic arrangement basis in the Department of Civil Engineering.

Eligibility Criteria of IUST Assistant Professor Vacancy

B.E./B.Tech./B.S. and M.E./M.Tech./M.S. or Integrated M.Tech. in relevant branch with first class or equivalent in any one of the degrees. Ph.D degree awarded as per UGC Regulations 2009/2016 and amendments from time to time.
OR
Ph.D acquired directly after B.E./B.Tech in relevant discipline from recognized university or institutes of national importance such as IITs, IISc, NITs etc.
OR
Ph.D from foreign university ranked among top 500 in QS, THE or ARWU rankings.

Salary Details

The selected candidates will receive an emolument of Rs. 50,000 per month.

Tenure of Engagement

The engagement is initially for the year 2026 ending on 31 December 2026 or till the post is filled on substantive basis, whichever is earlier.

The tenure may be extended on the basis of annual performance appraisal, student feedback, departmental requirement and other related parameters.

Selection Procedure

The selection of candidates will be based on performance in the interview.

The department will first scrutinize the credentials of applicants before the interview process.

• Candidates must produce original qualification and experience documents at the time of interview.
• No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in the interview.
• Only publications indexed in UGC-CARE List will be considered for academic purposes.
• Candidates must submit an undertaking regarding plagiarism-free publications.
• Candidates with foreign degrees must submit AIU equivalence certificate.
• The university reserves the right to terminate the contract in case of unsatisfactory performance.
