Fire Guts Residential-Cum-Shopping Complex in Anantnag | Kashmir Life

SRINAGAR: A massive fire broke out late on Monday evening in the Harnag area of Anantnag district, causing extensive damage to a residential-cum-shopping complex, officials said.

Eyewitnesses said flames erupted from the building and quickly spread, engulfing the entire structure within a short span of time. Locals immediately alerted the Fire and Emergency Services Department, following which multiple fire tenders rushed to the spot to contain the blaze.

Officials said the complex suffered severe damage in the incident, while efforts were underway to prevent the fire from spreading to nearby structures.

The cause of the fire was not immediately known. However, officials said an investigation would be initiated to ascertain the exact reason behind the incident.

No loss of life or injuries had been reported till the filing of this report. Meanwhile, locals appreciated the timely response of firefighters and police personnel during the operation. (KNC)
