DM Jammu Imposes Two-Month Ban on Inter-District Transport of Bovine Animals | Kashmir Life

SRINAGAR: The District Magistrate of Jammu, Rakesh Minhas, has imposed a ban on the transportation of bovine animals from Jammu district to other districts without prior permission from the District Magistrate or the Additional District Magistrate, officials said on Tuesday.

The order, issued under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, covers cattle including cows, buffaloes, oxen, bulls and calves.

According to the order, the restriction will remain in force for two months from the date of issuance or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Officials said any violation of the directive will attract punitive action under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

The administration said the measure has been taken in the exercise of statutory powers vested in the District Magistrate.
