SRINAGAR: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Tuesday called for building an inclusive and developed India, in line with the vision of the country’s freedom fighters, where every section of society participates in the progress journey.
Addressing a statue unveiling ceremony of noted social worker Vijay Bahadur Singh at Ghazipur in Uttar Pradesh, the Lieutenant Governor said India is steadily moving towards becoming a developed nation and that the 2047 target represents a collective national resolve.
Paying tribute to Vijay Bahadur Singh, founder of Mahamandaleshwar Bal Krishna Yati Inter College, he described him as a selfless figure who worked for society without seeking recognition and laid foundations for future generations through education.
The Lieutenant Governor highlighted the importance of carrying forward Singh’s ideals of service and dedication, terming him a true “karma yogi” whose efforts transformed the Bindravan and Jakhania regions through a people-driven movement focused on education.
He noted that the institution established in 1974 stood as a symbol of commitment to social change, built without significant financial support but driven by a strong belief in the power of education.
In his address, Sinha also underlined the role of service, sacrifice and nation-building, and said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, development has reached the grassroots level.
He pointed to improvements in housing, connectivity, digital access and financial inclusion, stating that such initiatives have empowered marginalized sections of society. He also highlighted advancements in education infrastructure and opportunities, particularly for youth and girls, emphasizing that modern education aims to create responsible and informed citizens.
