WII Recruitment Notification 2025 Out For 53 Research And Project Personnel Vacancies

The Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun has issued the official notification on 18 August 2025 announcing 53 positions under different research projects. These vacancies include Project Associate, Technical Assistant, Principal Project Associate, Project Scientist and others. Applications are invited from qualified candidates in prescribed format.

As per the notification, the maximum age limit is 50 years for Project Associates and Technical Assistants and 55 years for Project Scientist roles, with relaxations as per rules. The salary ranges between ₹27000 plus HRA to ₹77000 plus HRA depending on the post and qualification. The recruitment process will include shortlisting, online interview and document verification.

Applicants fulfilling the eligibility conditions must apply offline through the prescribed form available on wii.gov.in. The filled application with all required documents and fee receipt should reach the Wildlife Institute of India, Dehradun on or before 10 September 2025. The institute has announced a total of 53 contractual posts under multiple research projects. The distribution of vacancies is as follows

Project Associate II Ecology/GIS: 6 posts.
Project Associate II Database Manager: 1 post.
Project Associate I Ecology/Genetics/GIS: 15 posts.
Technical Assistant Ecology: 20 posts.
Principal Project Associate Genetics: 1 post.
Project Scientist I Mining Impact: 1 post.
Project Associate I ERD/HDD Impact: 1 post.
Project Associate II Wildlife Underpasses: 1 post.
Project Scientist I Expressway Impact: 1 post.
Project Associate II Elephant Conflict Phase II: 2 posts.
Project Associate I Tiger Monitoring Vidarbha: 3 posts.
Project Associate I Fishing Cat Conservation: 1 post.

Eligibility Criteria:
Educational Qualification: Candidates must hold a four year Bachelor degree as per NEP, or a Master degree, or a Doctoral degree in Natural Sciences, Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Genetics, Agricultural or Forestry Sciences, or related fields. Relevant research experience as mentioned in the notification is required for each post.

Age Limit: The maximum age is 50 years for Project Associates and Technical Assistants. For Project Scientist roles the maximum age is 55 years. Age relaxation applies to reserved categories as per government rules.

Nationality: Applicants must be Indian citizens.

Salary:
The pay scale ranges from ₹27000 plus HRA to ₹77000 plus HRA based on the post and qualifications.

Application Fee:
The application fee is ₹500 for General category candidates and ₹100 for SC, ST, OBC, EWS and Physically Challenged candidates. The fee should be paid through electronic mode and proof attached with the application form.

The completed form along with self attested documents and proof of fee payment must be sent to The Nodal Officer, Research Recruitment and Placement Cell, Wildlife Institute of India, Chandrabani, Dehradun 248001, Uttarakhand by Indian Post or Courier. The application should reach the institute by 5 PM on 10 September 2025.

Selection Process:
The selection process includes three stages. First, shortlisting of candidates based on eligibility, specialization and publications. Second, an online interview conducted by the selection committee. Third, verification of original certificates at the time of joining.
