Jammu, Jul 21: Police Monday stated to have busted a drug peddling network with the arrest of a father-in-law, son-in-law duo with 283 grams of heroin in Bishnah area of Jammu district.
Police also recovered a huge cash amounting to Rs 20.02 lakhs besides a Swift vehicle was also seized. “On a reliable information, a naka was established at Sikandarpur Kothey Bishnah, a suspected drug hotspot, leading to the recovery of a large quantity of heroin (Chitta). The operation resulted in the seizure of 283 grams of heroin (Chitta) and cash worth Rs 20,02,000. A Swift car bearing registration number JK02BB-9853 was also seized,” SP Headquarters Jammu, Irshad Hussain Rather stated this, in a press conference here.

The arrested accused have been identified as Sadiq Ali alias Jattu, son of Roshan Din, resident of Handey Chal, Marheen district Kathua and Saif Ali alias Safu, son of Noor Ali, resident of village Sikanderpur Kothey, Bishnah, Jammu.
“Accused Sadiq Ali is son-in-law of accused Saif Ali, and their further questioning is expected to provide further leads on the supply chain and distribution network of the contraband,” Police said. In this regard, FIR No 69/2025 was registered at Police Station Bishnah under sections 8/21/22/25/27-A/29 of the NDPS Act.
“Further investigation is underway to trace the source and destination of the recovered contraband. Police are thoroughly examining both the backward and forward linkages in the case. Additionally, a financial investigation has been initiated to trace the proceeds of illegal narcotic trade and take appropriate legal action,” Rather said.
