Srinagar, Jul 3: The Jammu & Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) is set to kick off T20 trial matches from Thursday, with four teams competing to secure their place in the final J&K squad.

As per the JKCA officials, each team will play three matches, with two matches scheduled daily, one in the morning and another in the second half. The performance of players during these trials will form the basis of selection for the final state team.

The top JKCA official confirmed that top cricketers from across Jammu and Kashmir, including promising talents from Jammu as well as international stars like Umran Malik and Abdul Samad, have arrived in Srinagar and are currently stationed here for the duration of the trials.

The JKCA officials added that following the conclusion of the trial phase, a fitness camp was scheduled to begin on July 11, aimed at preparing the shortlisted players for the upcoming Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2025.

The JKCA official also said that spectators will also be allowed to watch the matches from the stands. “Those who wish to see their favourite stars in action are welcome to come and enjoy the trial matches from the stands,” the official said.

He said that, adding to the week’s cricketing activities, an umpiring course conducted by Anil Chaudhary and Dalal Chaudhary was also scheduled to begin.
