
SRINAGAR: The Meteorological Department on Monday issued a weather forecast for Jammu and Kashmir, predicting light rain, thundershowers, gusty winds and hailstorms at scattered to many places across the Union Territory.
Director of the Meteorological Department, Mukhtar Ahmad, told Kashmir Life that brief spells of rain accompanied by gusty winds are likely at isolated locations during the afternoon and evening hours, while most areas are expected to remain largely dry in the morning.
He said hot and dry weather conditions are likely to persist across most parts of the region on May 26 and 27.
According to him, generally cloudy conditions with spells of rain, thundershowers and gusty winds are expected over scattered to fairly widespread areas on May 28 and 29.
He further stated that the Jammu plains may experience a slight rise in maximum temperatures, with a possibility of isolated thundershowers in a few locations.
The MeT Director advised farmers to carry out spraying and other agricultural activities during early morning hours. He also urged the public to remain cautious during adverse weather conditions and to adhere to official advisories to avoid any untoward incidents.
