JAMMU: BJP Spokesperson and Convenor International Affairs, Gaurav Gupta today strongly criticised Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for mocking Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his recent appeal regarding energy conservation and responsible fuel usage amid the prevailing global economic and geopolitical crisis.
In a hard-hitting statement, Gupta termed Rahul Gandhi’s remarks as “irresponsible, immature and politically bankrupt,” saying that such statements can only come from what he described as an “immature Congress child disconnected from ground realities and national responsibilities.”
Gupta said Prime Minister Modi’s appeal was made in the larger national interest at a time when the world is witnessing rising crude oil prices, global instability and economic uncertainty due to ongoing international conflicts.
“While serious world leaders are preparing their nations to face difficult global economic conditions, Rahul Gandhi is busy making childish comments and mocking every issue for cheap publicity. This reflects the Congress party’s shallow politics and absence of vision,” Gupta said.
He added that Prime Minister Modi has consistently believed in transparent communication with citizens and collective national responsibility during challenging times, whether during the Covid pandemic, global economic crises or national emergencies.
“Rahul Gandhi and the Congress party cannot tolerate decisive leadership. Instead of appreciating the Prime Minister’s foresight and honesty, they continue to indulge in negativity, misinformation and political theatrics,” he remarked.
Gupta further stated that the Congress party, which ruled the country for decades with corruption, scams and policy paralysis, has no moral authority to question a government that has transformed India into one of the fastest-growing major economies in the world.
“Leadership requires maturity, responsibility and seriousness towards national issues — not immature social media mockery and irresponsible political drama. Unfortunately, Rahul Gandhi has once again exposed the Congress party’s complete lack of political seriousness,” Gupta said.
The BJP leader asserted that the people of the country understand the importance of discipline, responsible consumption and national unity during difficult global circumstances and will continue to support Prime Minister Modi’s leadership.
Gupta added that the Congress party’s repeated attempts to politicise every national issue only expose its frustration, desperation and disconnect from the aspirations of the people of India.
