JAMMU UNIVERSITY JRF JOBS ADVERTISEMENT NOTICE FOR THE POSITION OF JUNIOR RESEARCH FELLOW (JRF)

Applications are invited on plain paper from Indian nationals with complete CV and necessary qualifications/experience certificates for the position of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in a Space Application Centre, ISRO funded project entitled “Study of glacier dynamics and mass balance of benchmark glaciers of Ladakh Himalayas using NISAR data sets” with following details:

No. of positions: 01 (One)
Age limit: 28 years

Qualification:

Post Graduate Degree in Basic Science OR Graduate/Post Graduate Degree in Professional Course selected through a process described through any one of the following:

a) National Eligibility Tests – CSIR-UGC NET including lectureship (Assistant professorship) and GATE

b) National level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and institutions such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, IISER etc.

Relaxation in age limit for SC/ST/OBC/EWS/Women/Physically handicapped as per the Govt. of India rules

Tenure of the project: 3 year
Emoluments: Rs. 37,000/- + 20% HRA

Position is purely temporary / part time with a monthly emolument of Rupees 37000/- + HRA for JRF for the period of one year. The extension shall be given on the basis of the performance of the JRF.

Desirable:

Working experience in Himalayas with good communication/writing skill.

Good knowledge of computers and SAR Remote sensing/statistical software.

Work on Glacier science at PG level shall be preferred

Master’s degree in RS & GIS / Geomatics Engineering / Geoinformatics / Environmental Sciences / Applied Geology / Geology
