Jammu Kashmir Police Arrest Five Drug Peddlers | Kashmir Life

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday arrested five drug peddlers and recovered significant quantities of contraband during coordinated operations in Anantnag and Sopore.

In Anantnag, four individuals were apprehended in separate operations, with police recovering charas powder, cannabis, and other narcotic substances from their possession. In Sopore, another peddler was arrested during a naka checking drive, and contraband was seized from him.

Police said cases have been registered in all incidents, and further investigations are underway to identify and dismantle the broader supply networks.

In parallel enforcement and awareness measures, JK Police conducted outreach programmes in Shopian to sensitise students about the harmful effects of drug abuse and to encourage a drug-free lifestyle. Training sessions were also organised in Pulwama to enhance investigation capabilities in NDPS cases, while inspection drives were carried out in Awantipora to check misuse of pharmaceutical drugs in chemist establishments.
