Gulmarg set for Khelo India Winter Games action from today

Gulmarg, Feb 22: The Secretary of the Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council, Nuzhat Gul, on Sunday said Gulmarg is all set to host the snow events of the Khelo India Winter Games 2026, with fixtures scheduled to kick off from Monday morning at Kongdori, drawing athletes from across the country to compete in various winter sports disciplines.

Speaking ahead of the competitions with media in Gulmarg, Gul said the Field of Play (FOP) has been established at Kongdori, and also near the club area, and all necessary arrangements have been put in place.

She said winter sports events have already begun in Ladakh, including ice hockey and other disciplines, while Gulmarg will now host major snow events featuring skiers from different states.

Gul added that participants from 34 states, Union Territories, boards and institutions are part of the Games.

She also said cultural programmes and Mashal activities are being held alongside competitions, promoting unity and participation among youth from diverse regions and backgrounds.
