The 10-kilometre heritage run, organised by Fucan Sports in collaboration with KSW, aims to revive a sporting tradition while highlighting the architectural and historical significance of the old city, popularly known as Shahrekhaas.

The route will commence from Badamwari Garden Gate (Kathidarwaza) and conclude at Islamia College Hawal. Participants will pass through key heritage landmarks, including Khanqah-e-Moula, Budshah Tomb, and Jamia Masjid Srinagar.

Umar Tramboo, Director Corporate and Strategy at Khyber Cement, said the company’s association with the event reflects its longstanding connection with the region’s architectural identity. He stated that the initiative goes beyond sport and is intended to celebrate and sustain the cultural heritage of Srinagar.

Wasim Ahmed Khan, Chief of Sales and Customer Relations at the company, said the sponsorship is aimed at promoting fitness and civic pride, particularly among youth, while drawing attention to the city’s historic core.

The organisers said the event is expected to attract wide participation and renew public engagement with Srinagar’s heritage landscape. Khyber Cement, in a statement, said it will continue supporting initiatives that contribute to cultural preservation and community development in Jammu and Kashmir.
