LG Sinha to Address Assembly Tomorrow; CM Omar to Chair Cabinet Meet – Alfaaz – The Words

Srinagar: The Budget Session of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly will commence on Monday with Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha addressing the House.

The Lieutenant Governor will deliver his address at 10:00 AM in the Assembly complex, marking his third address to the House since the formation of the elected government in Jammu and Kashmir.

The Legislative Assembly Secretariat has issued a bulletin urging members to maintain dignity and decorum during the address. “The Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor’s address is a most solemn and formal act and must be heard with attention and respect, while maintaining utmost dignity, decency, and decorum,” the bulletin reads.

According to the session schedule, the discussion on the Motion of Thanks to the Lieutenant Governor’s address will be held on February 3, 4, and 5, concluding on February 5 with the Chief Minister’s reply. The Budget of the Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory for 2026-27 will be presented by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on February 6, followed by a detailed discussion and presentation of demands for grants by various departments.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is scheduled to chair a meeting of the Council of Ministers on Monday at 3:00 PM at his official residence in Jammu.

As per reports, important policy and administrative issues are likely to be discussed during the meeting. (with inputs from agencies)
