Jammu Kashmir: SOG Personnel Killed in Ongoing Encounter | Kashmir Life

SRINAGAR: One Special Operation Group (SOG) personnel who was critically injured during ongoing encounter between militants and security forces in the Udhampur district of Jammu Kashmir, succumbed to his injuries on Monday late evening, officials said.

Official sources said that an SOG personnel identified as Amjad Pathan who was critically injured earlier, has succumbed to his injuries.

Security forces had launched a cordon-and-search operation in the area following credible intelligence about the presence of militants. The operation escalated after the militants opened fire, leading to an ongoing exchange of gunfire.

Reinforcements have been rushed to the site, and the tight cordon remains in place. (KNC)
