SRINAGAR: Srinagar Police on Wednesday attached a three-storeyed residential house along with one kanal of land, valued at around Rs 2 crore, under provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.

Police said the property at Shaltang was in the possession of Fayaz Ahmad Bhat, father of alleged drug peddler Manzoor Ahmad Bhat, who is accused in FIR No. 98/2025 under Sections 8, 22 and 29 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Parimpora.

Investigations revealed that the property had been raised using proceeds generated through drug trafficking. Based on these findings, the competent authority ordered attachment under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act.

The attachment process was executed in the presence of an Executive Magistrate and independent witnesses, officials said, adding that all legal procedures were strictly followed. The owner has been barred from selling, leasing, altering or creating any third-party interest in the property.
