Two Killed in Ramban Road Accident | Kashmir Life

SRINAGAR: Two young men lost their lives in a road accident in the Lewra Chamalwas area of Ramban district on Friday evening.

According to official reports, the incident occurred at around 6:30 pm when a Tata Nexon bearing registration number JK19A-3165 was travelling towards Neel Batu in Tehsil Ramsoo. The vehicle was carrying two occupants, both residents of Neel Batu.

One of the occupants, identified as Zeeshan Lateef, son of Abdul Lateef, died on the spot due to critical injuries. The second occupant, Mohd Amir, son of Mohd Shafi Chopan, succumbed to his injuries after being referred to the Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Banihal.

Hospital sources said post-mortem examinations are being conducted at SDH Banihal, after which the bodies will be handed over to the next of kin following completion of legal formalities.

Police have taken cognisance of the incident and initiated further investigation to determine the circumstances leading to the accident. The tragedy has cast a pall of gloom over Neel Batu village, with residents expressing deep grief over the untimely deaths of the two youths. (KNC)
