
Srinagar, Jun 01: Srinagar International Airport will remain closed twice a week from July to September this year due to ongoing runway repair and resurfacing works, officials said on Monday.
According to officials, flight operations at the airport will remain suspended on every Monday and Tuesday beginning July 1 till the end of September.
Officials said the revised closure schedule has already been communicated to airlines and other concerned agencies.
“Passenger flight operations will remain suspended on Mondays and Tuesdays during July, August and September due to runway maintenance works,” an official said.
“Instead of weekends, the airport will now remain shut every Monday and Tuesday for three months beginning July 1,” officials said, adding that any decision regarding operations beyond September would be taken later.
