PDP to Introduce Three Reform Bills in Jammu Kashmir Assembly Tomorrow

SRINAGAR: PDP legislators are set to introduce three Private Members’ Bills in the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly on Tuesday, focusing on land rights, employee regularisation, and prohibition of alcohol across the Union Territory.

MLA Waheed Ur Rehman Para will seek leave to introduce a bill granting special provisions for residents regarding recognition of proprietary rights of houses constructed on state land, Kacharia.

He will also move another bill aimed at regularising adhoc, daily-wage, need-based, and other temporary workers in government departments. A similar bill, listed at serial number 3, was submitted by National Conference’s Mir Saifullah.

Meanwhile, MLA Mir Mohammad Fayaz will introduce a bill seeking a blanket ban on the advertisement, sale, purchase, consumption, and manufacture of alcoholic drinks in Jammu and Kashmir.

A total of 41 private member bills are set to be introduced in the legislative assembly on the same day.
