SRINAGAR: The Directorate of Rural Development Kashmir on Wednesday suspended Layla Khalid, a Panchayat Inspector presently holding additional charge as Block Development Officer (BDO) Newa, pending an inquiry into alleged misconduct.

According to an official order, she has been attached to the office of the Assistant Commissioner Panchayat, Ganderbal, with immediate effect.

The order further states that the Assistant Commissioner Development, Pulwama, will hold additional charge of BDO Newa until further orders.

An in-depth inquiry has been initiated into the matter, with the Assistant Commissioner Development, Pulwama directed to submit a detailed report along with recommendations within 15 days, officials said.
