One Killed, Two Injured in Separate Electrocution Incidents Across Srinagar | Kashmir Life

SRINAGAR: A labourer died while two others sustained injuries in three separate electrocution incidents reported from different parts of Srinagar on Wednesday, officials said.

Police said a team from Police Station Soura shifted an electrocuted man to SKIMS Soura in an unconscious condition after he accidentally came into contact with a live electric wire while working at Hawal.

The deceased was identified as Noorani Gojar Turk, son of Khameem Ghulam Turk, a resident of Chuntimulla Bandipora, aged around 40.

Officials said he was working as a labourer for a private company, “Green Glouse”, at Hyderpora and was reportedly painting an electric pole near Islamia College Hawal when the incident occurred.

Doctors at SKIMS declared him brought dead on arrival.

In another incident, an electrocution burn victim was brought to SMHS Hospital Srinagar from the Munawarabad area.

Officials identified the injured man as Ishtiyaq Ahmad, son of Ghulam Hassan, a resident of Ganderbal, aged around 45. According to attendants, he was working at Hotel Numrooz in Munawarabad when he suffered an electric shock.

Hospital sources said his condition was stable.

Meanwhile, another electrocution incident was reported from the Kursoo Rajbagh area, where a hotel worker allegedly suffered an electric shock while on duty at Hotel Vilasta.

The injured youth was identified as Imran Ahmad Lone, son of Mohammad Maqbool Lone, a resident of Sopore. He was shifted to SMHS Hospital for treatment.

Police have taken cognisance of all three incidents. [KNT]
