22-Year-Old Girl Mauled by Wild Bear, Referred to Srinagar Hospital | Kashmir Life

SRINAGAR: A 22-year-old girl was seriously injured after being attacked by a wild bear in the Nowagabra area of Karnah on Wednesday morning, officials said.

An official said the victim, identified as Parveena Bano, daughter of Mohammad Younis Malik, was attacked while she was on the outskirts of the village.

Locals rushed to her rescue and shifted her to Sub-District Hospital Tanghdar, from where doctors referred her to Srinagar for advanced treatment due to the critical nature of her injuries.

The incident has triggered panic among residents of forest-fringe villages, who claimed that the movement of wild animals has increased in recent weeks.

Locals have urged the Wildlife Department and the district administration to take immediate preventive measures to ensure the safety of people living in vulnerable areas. (KNS)
