National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar has released the official notification inviting applications from eligible and motivated candidates for the post of Junior Project Fellow (JPF)/Project Assistant under a sponsored research project funded by the J&K Science Technology & Innovation Council (JKSTIC).

The recruitment is being conducted under the Water Resource Management Centre (WRMC) for the research project titled “Climate Change Effects on the Integrated Hydropower Potential in the Jammu and Kashmir Regions: A WEAP-CORDEX Ensemble and Machine Learning Approach”. Eligibility Criteria of NIT Srinagar Vacancies


Educational Qualification

  • B.Tech in Civil Engineering and M.Tech in any specialization of Civil Engineering

Desirable Experience

  • Experience in Water Resources, Hydropower and Machine Learning will be preferred

Shortlisting Criteria

  • Candidates will be shortlisted based on desirable experience related to the project
  • Fulfilling the minimum eligibility criteria does not guarantee shortlisting

Salary and Duration


  • Monthly Emolument: ₹30,000
  • No HRA will be provided
  • The appointment is initially for one year
  • The tenure may be extended for one more year based on performance
