SRINAGAR: National Conference leader and Srinagar MP Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi has accused Chief Minister Omar Abdullah of having “raised his voice only against the Kashmiri people” since assuming office in 2024.
The remarks came in response to CM Omar Abdullah’s recent “cloudburst” comment, which has sparked political debate in the Valley. Ruhullah said, “I don’t know. CM Omar must be aware of it himself.”
He further stated, “I know that since he became Chief Minister in 2024, he has raised his voice only against the Kashmiri people.”
When asked whether his “big announcement” could indicate a political realignment, Ruhullah declined to elaborate, saying, “You will see. I will see it.”
The MP also spoke on several issues concerning Jammu and Kashmir, including the National Conference’s recent party meeting, the reservation policy, the party’s setback in the Budgam elections, shifting political dynamics in the Union Territory, and his own dissatisfaction with the National Conference.
