Massive fire reduces house to ashes in Lalpora

Kupwara: A residential house was completely gutted in a fire incident that broke out in Lalpora on Saturday evening, officials said.

They told Alfaaz – The Words that the house, belonging to Master Zahoor Ahmad Wani, was engulfed by flames after the fire spread rapidly, leaving the structure reduced to ashes.

Teams from Police, Army, CRPF and Fire and Emergency Services rushed to the spot and launched a coordinated firefighting operation. However, the blaze caused extensive damage before it could be brought under control.

Officials said the cause of the fire could not be immediately determined and is under investigation. “No casualties or injuries were reported in the incident, though all household belongings were destroyed.”

Police have taken cognisance of the incident and registered a case to ascertain the cause of the fire.
