SRINAGAR: Eight persons were injured in two separate road traffic accidents in the Mirgund area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Sunday, officials said.

In the first incident, five persons sustained injuries and were shifted to JVC Hospital, Bemina, for treatment. They have been identified as Tafiq Abbas (9) of Garain Kalan, Budgam; Sakeena (12) of Batain; Mohammad Qasim (46) of Garain, Budgam; Muhammad Mustafa (50) of Thandipora, Budgam; and Mohammad Abdullah (50) of Garain, Budgam.

In a separate incident, three more injured persons were brought to the same hospital. They were identified as Haleema (40), wife of Ghulam Ahmad Ganie of Garain, Budgam; Shahmeema (60), wife of Ghulam Rasool Wani of Garain, Budgam; and Sakeena (20), daughter of Mohammad Ashraf Ganie of Garain, Budgam. Officials said their condition was stable.

All the injured are undergoing treatment at JVC Hospital, Bemina.

Further details regarding the cause of the accidents were not immediately available. (KNT)
