In a major update for India’s energy security, Additional Secretary Mukesh Mangal confirmed that two LPG carriers have successfully crossed the Strait of Hormuz and are due at Kandla and New Mangalore ports by May 18. However, the crisis remains intense as the Indian vessel ‘Haji Ali’ sank following an attack and fire in Omani waters; thankfully, all crew members were rescued by the Omani Coast Guard. With over 3,158 seafarers now repatriated and port operations remaining normal, the Indian government continues to prioritise both supply stability and the safety of its maritime workers.
