Jammu, Aug 31: JKPCC Working President Raman Bhalla has strongly criticised the Union Government for its failure to respond to the recent flood situation in Jammu division.
Bhalla visited flood-affected areas and alleged that the “government’s inefficiency, negligence, and lack of preparedness have exacerbated the situation.” He stated that the administration has remained inactive, failing to provide timely relief and rehabilitation measures to the affected families.
Bhalla demanded that the government take immediate action to provide basic facilities, including water, electricity, and healthcare, set up health camps and temporary shelters, restore road connectivity and communication links, provide compensation to farmers who have lost crops and livelihoods, ensure accountability and transparency in the use of disaster relief funds.Bhalla criticized the government’s response, stating that the announcement of a relief package is not enough to address the scale of the disaster. He emphasized that people need immediate relief on the ground, including food, shelter, and medical care.
