KPDCL Announces Scheduled Power Shutdowns Across Kashmir | Kashmir Life

SRINAGAR: The Chief Engineer, Distribution, Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL), has announced multiple scheduled shutdowns of 33 kV transmission lines on April 18, 19 and 21, 2026, to facilitate essential maintenance works.

On April 18, the 33 kV Khanyar line will remain shut from 10 a.m to 3 p.m., affecting power supply in Khanyar, Rainawari and Islamia College areas. On the same day, the 33 kV Beerwah–Arizal line will also be shut, impacting Arizal, Zanigam, Reyar, Doodhpathri and adjoining areas from 10 a.m to 4 p.m.

On April 19, shutdown of all 33 kV lines emanating from GS Kanipora, including Keller, Batapora, IGC Aglar and Pinjoora, will affect a wide range of areas such as Shopian town, Keller, Memendar, Shirmal, Vehil, Zawoora, Reshinagri, Pahnoo, DC Office Shopian, and adjoining localities from 11 a.m to 1 p.m. On the same day, the 33 kV Alasteng Power House line will be shut from 10 a.m to 3 p.m., affecting power supply to the Mini Secretariat Ganderbal.

On April 21, the 33 kV Takanwari line will remain shut from 10 a.m to 3 p.m., affecting Takanwari, Shanglipora, Danmar and adjoining areas. The 33 kV Beerwah–Arizal line will also undergo shutdown on the same date from 10 a.m to 4 p.m., affecting Arizal, Zanigam, Reyar, Doodhpathri and nearby areas.

Meanwhile, KPDCL has also informed that the shutdown of the 33 kV Kanipora–Pinjoora line has been rescheduled to April 19, 2026, from 9 a.m to 3:30 p.m.

Consumers in the affected areas have been advised to make necessary arrangements in advance.
