
SRINAGAR: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced scheduled power shutdowns across multiple areas in the Kashmir Valley between May 4 and May 14, 2026, due to maintenance and infrastructure works.
According to the Chief Engineer, Distribution, power supply from the 33 KV Shamsipora Tapline will remain suspended in Shamsipora, Sudsanoo, Turka, Tachloo and adjoining areas from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm on May 4 and May 6.
Similarly, shutdown of the 132/33 KV, 100 MVA GIS Khanyar will affect power supply to Nowshera, Raja Colony, Industrial Estate BAMK, Zadibal, Hawal, Botakadal, BSNL, Gilkadal, Kathi Darwaza, Rainawari Psychiatric Hospital, PHE, Central Jail, Saida Kadal and adjoining areas from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm on May 4 and May 6.
In another schedule, power supply from the 33 KV KP Bagh line and 33 KV Exhibition line will remain affected in KP Bagh, Soiteng, PHE, Kursoo Rajbagh, Rajbagh Bund, Gogjibagh, Museum, Jawahar Nagar, Mehjoor Nagar, Rambagh, Old Barzullah and adjoining areas from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm on May 5, May 11 and May 14.
Likewise, the shutdown of the 33 KV Nehalpora Markundal line and 33 KV Nihalpora HMT line will impact power supply to Markundal, Naidkhai, Sumbal, Gund Boon, Shadipora, Trigam, Mirgund, Singhpora, Kalsari, HMT, SKUAST, SSM College and adjoining areas from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm on May 5.
The shutdowns are being carried out to facilitate necessary maintenance and ensure the smooth functioning of the power distribution system.
