
SRINAGAR: The University of Kashmir has suspended a Scientist-C from its Department of Computer Sciences after his arrest in connection with a case registered at the Women’s Police Station Rambagh.
As per an official order, the employee identified as Sajad Mohammed Khan has been placed under suspension with immediate effect under Rule 31 of the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1956, following his detention in FIR No. 11 of 2026.
University authorities clarified that the suspension is a procedural requirement applicable when an employee is taken into custody and does not imply guilt, adding that the step has been taken in accordance with service rules to maintain administrative discipline during the ongoing investigation.
Officials confirmed that FIR No. 11 dated April 20, 2026, has been registered at the Women’s Police Station Rambagh under relevant legal provisions, and further investigation into the case is in progress.
