
Jammu, June 07: Jammu Railway Division of the Northern Railway has prepared an additional rake for ‘Pooja Express’ (train number 12413/12414) to end persisting issues related to its delay.
According to railway officials, Pooja Express (train number 12414) was running late by 15 to 20 hours continuously due to traffic blocks and train regulation in Delhi Division.
The primary maintenance of this train is done in Jammu. However, due to persistent delays, improving its punctuality had become a big challenge. This delay was causing great inconvenience to passengers and was affecting the image of Railways.
Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Uchit Singhal said, “Giving top priority to passenger convenience and train punctuality, Northern Railway, Jammu Division has once again proven its efficiency. With excellent coordination among various departments, the division has prepared an ‘additional rake’ and ended the “delay” issue related to Pooja Express, i.e., train number 12413/12414.”
Explaining the innovative solution, to eliminate this problem at its root, he said that Jammu Division made a practical and quick plan.
“With the help of Jammu Railway Division and Headquarters, a rake was prepared parallel to Pooja Express by including various coaches. Coaches were arranged and made available as per the train’s requirement,” Singhal informed.
He stated that through precise planning, efficient shunting and the process of adding and removing coaches, a new ‘additional rake’ was successfully prepared.
Singhal, while reiterating the commitment of Jammu Railway Division to provide better, safe and timely service to passengers, said, “Innovation, coordination and commitment can turn any operational challenge into an opportunity.”
Raghvender Singh, Public Relations Inspector, Jammu Railway Division, stated that the passengers directly benefitted from Jammu Division’s prompt initiative.
“After getting the additional rake, train number 12414 has started operating, as per its scheduled time, from today i.e., June 7, 2026. This has completely removed the inconvenience caused to passengers and there has been a significant improvement in operational efficiency,” Singh added.
