Jammu Kashmir: Govt Orders Transfers, Additional Charges in Forest Department | Kashmir Life

SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Government on Tuesday ordered multiple transfers and postings in the Forest, Ecology and Environment Department with immediate effect.

According to Government Order No. 57-JK(FST) of 2026 dated March 10, issued by the Civil Secretariat, several Indian Forest Service (IFS) and other forest officers have been given new assignments and additional responsibilities in the interest of administration.

Under the order, Chaturbhuj Behara, IFS (AGMUT:1996), Director of the JK Forest Research Institute, has been given additional charge of Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife) and Chief Wildlife Warden, JK. With this arrangement, Sarvesh Rai, IFS (AGMUT:1991), PCCF and Head of Forest Force (HoFF), JK, has been relieved of the charge.

VS Senthil Kumar, IFS (AGMUT:2005), Chief Conservator of Forests, Jammu, will also hold additional charge of Regional Wildlife Warden, Jammu, until further orders.

The government has posted Ms Vanjulavalli Sridhar, IFS (AGMUT:2012), as Conservator of Forests, Research Circle. Meanwhile, Shaveta Jandial, IFS (AGMUT:2013), Regional Director of the Pollution Control Committee in Jammu, has been transferred and appointed as Regional Director of the Social Forestry Department, Jammu.

Jyotsana, IFS (AGMUT:2013), Regional Wildlife Warden, Jammu, has been transferred and posted as Chief General Manager (Eco-tourism and Diversification) in the Jammu and Kashmir Forest Development Corporation Limited (JKFDCL).

Among other changes, Suresh Manda, IFS (AGMUT:2016), has been posted as Regional Director of the Pollution Control Committee, Jammu. Several officers at the Deputy Conservator of Forests (DCF) and Assistant Conservator of Forests (ACF) levels, including Zubair Ahmad Shah, Hitashi Sharma, Vijay Kumar Verma, Safeer Hussain and Abhijeet Joshi, have also been given new postings and additional charges.
